Danish Church Days is an ecumenical gathering, that takes place every three years. The programme is organized by an ecumenical working group strongly supported by the Diocese of Haderslev and bishop Niels Henrik Arendt, The Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Denmark.
     The common Christian faith is celebrated in worship, music, art, and hymns. It is part of the Danish Church Days to inspire Christians and Churches to work with the renewal of liturgical life in respect for the long liturgical traditions in the Christian churches through the ages. Christian spirituality and Christian life in today's world will play an important role in the programme.
   A number of important issues will be discussed: the consequences of the Danish Cartoon-Crisis, the role of religion in modern politics, and relationship between state and church. Mitri Rahed, Lutheran pastor from Betlehem, will speak about reconciliation and Christian hope in the Middle East, and David Zac Niringiye, Anglican bishop from Uganda, will look upon the churches in the West from an African perspective.
      The Danish Church Days in Haderslev is the place to go, if you want to know and participate in the life of the Christian churches in Denmark just now.
   Saturday morning at 10.30 international participants have an opportunity to be introduced to Danish church life and the somewhat atypical legal church order. There will be an introduction both in English and German.
       Several sessions and sermons during Danish Church Days will be in English (and some in German). At all the major sessions during the day, including the evening programmes, when Danish is spoken, simulataneous translation into English (and German) will be available.
